How do genuinely saved people respond to the Bible?

Genuinely saved people cannot exhaust what is in Scripture; they just cannot get enough of it. Having believed the gospel, they begin to mind the things of the Spirit rather than the things of the world and old Adam. This hunger for the Bible is exactly as it should be and what Scripture intends.

Les explains that once people come to believe the gospel and are genuinely saved, they cannot exhaust what is in this book—they just cannot get enough of it. That is as it should be, and that is exactly the way Scripture wants it to be. Such believers then begin to mind the things of the Spirit rather than the things of the world and old Adam. By contrast, a carnal believer is not Spirit-filled or Spirit-directed; his priorities are mixed up and he is still more in the flesh than in the Spirit. Normally, however, carnal refers to the lost individual, still under old Adam, fleshly minded, and headed only toward spiritual death, eternal.
