Who exercises the will when a believer has true freedom?

When a believer has true freedom, the exercise of the will is left with the believer. True free will is given at salvation, and the believer himself exercises it. The lost person is bound by the devil, flesh, and world, but the believer is set free to exercise his own will.

Les explains that the lost person does not have as much freedom as he thinks, because he is entwined in the spider web of the devil, the flesh, and the world, and only the power of God can break that. Once God breaks that binding force, the believer is set free. That is when we were really given the free will. If we are going to have true freedom, the exercise of the will is left with us—the believer. Les notes that many people do not like this, but it is the truth of Scripture.
