What should believers do with the liberty Christ has made for them?

Believers are to stand fast in the liberty Christ has made for them and not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. They must not add circumcision or any human work to grace, since doing so cancels the work of the cross. Instead, they are to believe that Christ did everything required.

Les explains that the text commands believers to stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. He emphasizes that adding circumcision, or anything man can do to merit salvation, causes Christ to profit nothing and cancels the work of the cross. Multitudes of church people do this by saying they cannot be saved unless they do this or that. Les teaches that Christ died and rose and did everything a holy God could demand; all God asks is that we believe it. Refusing to believe leaves one under the anathema of a holy God, while faith honestly recognizes what God has said and says, “God, I believe it.”

Galatians 5:1
