What is the believer's status regarding bondage and freedom?
The believer's status is one of liberty and freedom in Christ, not bondage. Christ has made believers free, so they are to stand fast in that liberty and not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage, which the context identifies as the Law.
Les teaches from Galatians chapter five, verse one, that the admonition is to stand fast, unmovable, in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free. Believers are not under bondage; they have liberty and have been set free. He warns not to be entangled again with that yoke of bondage, explaining that the Law was a legal yoke of bondage. Judaism, the religion of Christ's day and Orthodox Jewry, had its roots in the pure Mosaic and Levitical Law given in Moses' time.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
