What are believers created in Christ Jesus to do?
Believers are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God before ordained. This purpose was established even before He created Adam, with God foreordaining that His believers should maintain good works. Such good works are the intended result of a salvation experience.
Les explains that being created in Christ Jesus is a work of God, and its purpose is good works. He notes that believers were to let the world feel and understand where they are coming from. These good works were foreordained by God before He ever created Adam, even though He saw the mess mankind would enter. God had already determined that His believers should maintain good works. Les illustrates this with Abraham, who was well spoken of and exemplary, and Jacob, who was a rascal and a cheat until he met the Lord at Peniel, after which no bad remark was made about him. Every time one of God's choicest servants comes on the scene, He looks for good works, because that is what believers are created for, and God knew this would be the result of a salvation experience.
