What are believers called in Christ — are we a new creation and a work of God?

Believers who believe the Gospel are placed by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ. In that union they are a new creation and a work of God. This new nature is an invisible, eternal work of creation that only God can perform, because the old Adamic nature had to be crucified.

Les explains that whether Jews or Gentiles, bond or free, all have been made to drink or partake of the same Spirit. Entry into Christ comes by believing the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit does His work and places the believer into the Body of Christ. Therefore believers are a new creation and a work of God. Les stresses that the part of us dealing with eternity is invisible; no human can touch the invisible, and only God can deal in that area. In that invisible realm, God has done a work of creation. Using his circles, Les depicts the old nature and the new nature: the old Adamic nature had to be crucified and put to death, which is a spiritual, invisible work only God could do, putting our old Adam to death in that crucifixion with Christ. Likewise, only God can give the new creative personality, the new nature, because it too is in the invisible realm. So believers are a new work of creation, which God alone can do.
