Why did God create believers in Christ Jesus unto good works?

God ordained beforehand that believers, having been created in Christ Jesus, should be the practitioners of good works and walk in them. This is the way He set it up and planned it for the Christian community, so that good works flow from the Christian life built on Jesus Christ, the foundation.

Les explains that Scripture says believers have been created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained. This means it is the way God set it up and planned it: the Christian community should be the practitioners of good works and should walk in them. Les then moves to 1 Corinthians chapter 3, beginning in verse 9, where Paul deals with the works part of the Christian experience, not the salvation end of it. Paul says, "we are laborers together with God"; believers are God's husbandry and God's building. Paul laid the foundation as a wise master builder, and every believer must take heed how he builds thereupon, because no other foundation can be laid than Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
