What can believers accomplish in Christ's power?
In Christ's power, believers can accomplish far more than they can imagine. Without Him they can do nothing, but in Him they can shake the old world to its bootstraps if they step out by faith. Their potential is beyond comprehension when they rely on His power.
Les teaches from this passage that without Christ we are absolutely nothing, but in Him and in His power, none of us have any idea what we can accomplish. He explains that we can shake this old world to its bootstraps if we would just step out by faith and do it. The context contrasts human boasting with glorying only in the Lord, and Paul's example of not relying on excellency of speech or worldly wisdom, but determining to know only Jesus Christ and Him crucified. So the believer's accomplishment is not in human ability but in Christ's power, accessed by faith.
