Why did God create believers in Christ Jesus?
Believers are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God foreordained before He created Adam. God already saw the whole mess mankind would go into, yet He ordained that His believers should maintain good works as the result of a salvation experience.
Les explains that being created in Christ Jesus is a work of God with a purpose: good works. He emphasizes that believers were to let the world feel and understand where they were coming from. Those good works were not an afterthought; God before ordained them before He ever created Adam. Even though He saw the whole mess mankind would go into, He had already foreordained that His believers should maintain good works. Les illustrates this from Abraham, who was well spoken of, and Jacob, a rascal and cheat until he met the Lord at Peniel, after which he became an exemplary saint. Every time one of God's choicest servants appears, God looks for good works, because that is what believers are created for and what God knew would result from a salvation experience.
