What can believers accomplish with God's help?
Scripture says believers are laborers together with God, unable to do anything alone, yet with God's help no one can measure what they can do. They are created in Christ Jesus for good works God before ordained, so the Christian community should practice and walk in those works.
Les explains that 1 Corinthians 3:9 presents the works side of the Christian experience, not the salvation side: “we are laborers together with God.” He emphasizes that believers cannot do anything alone, but with God's help, who knows what they can do? The believer is God's husbandry and God's building. Paul, as a wise master builder, laid the foundation, Jesus Christ, and every believer must take heed how he builds thereupon. Earlier, Les ties this to being created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before ordained, so the Christian community should be the practitioners of good works and walk in them.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
