What can believers accomplish when they operate in Christ's power by faith?
Operating in Christ's power by faith, believers can accomplish far more than they realize—enough to shake this old world to its bootstraps when they step out by faith. Apart from Him, they can do absolutely nothing, for none of us are anything without Him.
Les explains that all boasting or glorying must be in the Lord, because without Him we are nothing and can do absolutely nothing. But in Him and in His power, believers have no idea what they can accomplish. Les says they can shake this old world to its bootstraps if they would just step out by faith and do it. He contrasts the wisdom of this world with the wisdom of God, and points to Paul as the prime example: Paul did not come to Corinth with excellency of speech or human wisdom, but determined not to know anything among them save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
