In which part of man is the image of God located?
The image of God in man is located in the inner, spiritual, eternal part—the personality made up of mind, will, and emotions—not in the physical body or its five senses. Man is a three-part being of body, soul, and spirit, and God's image resides in that invisible, non-material aspect.
Les explains that when God created man in His image, it did not mean a physical likeness, because God is Spirit and has no body with five senses. Man is a trichotomous being—body, soul, and spirit. The body is merely the outer tent, temporary and limited to the five senses. Inside that temporary tent are the eternal things, and it is in this inner area that we are made in the image of God. That image is the personality, the true person, comprised of mind, will, and emotions. Les uses circles on the board to illustrate this, noting many have found enlightenment from this teaching.
