What happened to Jerusalem and the Jewish people after God set Israel aside?

Once Israel was set aside, Roman armies destroyed the temple and Jerusalem. The Jewish people went into a dispersion that lasted until modern times, when they began returning to the land in the early 1900s and became a sovereign state in 1948.

Les explains that after Israel had seven years of constantly rejecting Peter and the eleven and their appeal, God gave up on the nation of Israel and set them aside. Just a few years later, the Roman armies destroyed the temple and Jerusalem, and the Jewish people went into a dispersion. Les notes this dispersion lasted until our generation, when the Jewish people began returning to the land in the early 1900s and in 1948 became a sovereign state. He adds that everything taking place in the last forty-some years is getting ready for the fulfillment of the prophetic Word, emphasizing that no prophecy is directed to the church.
