What happened a few years after God set Israel aside?

Following God's setting aside of Israel, the Roman armies destroyed the temple and Jerusalem, and the Jewish people were dispersed. That dispersion lasted until modern times, when they returned to the land in the early 1900s and became a sovereign state in 1948.

Les explains that Israel had seven years of constantly rejecting Peter and the eleven and their appeal, so God gave up on the nation and set them aside. In just a few years after this, the Roman armies destroyed the temple and Jerusalem, and the Jewish people went into a dispersion. That dispersion lasted until in our generation they came back into the land since the early 1900s, and in 1948 they became a sovereign state. Les notes that everything taking place in the last forty-some years is getting ready for the fulfillment of the prophetic Word, and he emphasizes that there is no prophecy directed to the church.
