What happened to Israel after the temple was destroyed?

After the temple was destroyed by Rome, Israel was sent into a dispersion among all the nations of the world. That dispersion has largely continued, though in recent times many Jews have begun returning to the nation of Israel in preparation for their Messiah's coming.

Les teaches that from the crucifixion to the destruction of the temple by the Roman army was 40 years, a period of testing. At the end of that 40 years, Israel remained adamant in unbelief, so the sovereign God permitted Rome to come in and destroy the city in the most awful siege in all of ancient history. The temple was destroyed, and Israel was sent into a dispersion amongst all the nations of the world. That dispersion has begun to come to an end, though it has not ended yet for the most part; many nations are now completely devoid of Jews. But the Jew is finally getting back to the nation of Israel, and a future great influx will prepare for the coming of their Messiah.
