What will the stone do to the Gentile empires in Daniel 2?

According to Daniel 2, the stone not cut with hands, which is Christ at His second coming, will come and destroy all the residue of those previous Gentile kingdoms, and then it will fill the whole earth. This depicts the final overthrow of the great Gentile empires.

Les explains that in Daniel chapter 2, Nebuchadnezzar's dream of the great image—with the head of gold, chest of silver, belly of brass, legs of iron, and feet of iron and clay mixed—depicted all the great Gentile empires coming down through history. In verse 35, the stone not cut with hands will come and destroy all the residue of those previous Gentile kingdoms, and it will fill the whole earth. Les points out that Christ is always the stone and the rock of Scripture, so this is Christ in His second coming.

Daniel 2:35

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
