Why is Christ not the King of believers?

Scripture presents Christ as Savior, Redeemer, and Head of the Body to the Church, not as King. Paul never calls Him King of the Church. Believers are citizens of heaven who look for the Savior, not a King, because they will not be subjects but co-heirs.

Les explains from Philippians 3:20-21 that the believer’s conversation, or citizenship, is already in heaven. From heaven we look for the Savior, not the King. He emphasizes that Christ is not the King to the Church; He is the Savior and the Head of the Body. Paul never refers to Christ as the King of the Church, only as Savior, Redeemer, and Head of the Body. Christ will be King of kings and Lord of lords absolutely, but not for us, because we will never be His subjects; we will be His co-heirs. This distinction makes a big difference.
