Why is Christ not the King of the Church?
Paul never alludes to Christ as King of the Church. Believers are members of His Body, joint heirs with Him and part and parcel of Him. He is the Head, and the Church is His Body - a far different relationship than subjects to a king.
Les explains that the Kingdom is where the King is, and after the crucified King was buried and resurrected, He went to Heaven, so the Kingdom is now in Heaven. But Les stresses that Paul never alludes to Christ as the King of the Church, and believers are never to address Him as our King. Christ is King, but not our King, because as members of the Body we are joint heirs with Him and part and parcel of Him. He is the Head and we are the Body - a far different relationship than that of a king to his subjects.
