In Exodus 15, what condition is attached to God's promise not to bring the diseases of Egypt on Israel?
The condition is that Israel must diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD their God, do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes. If they obey, God promises to put none of Egypt's diseases upon them, for He is Jehovah Rapha who heals.
Les teaches that in this passage the LORD sets a clear condition before Israel: they must diligently hearken to His voice, do right in His sight, give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes. Only then does He promise to put none of the diseases He brought upon the Egyptians on them. The passage also reveals God as Jehovah Rapha, the LORD who heals.
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
