Why was Jesus able to perform miracles?

Jesus performed miracles by the supernatural power He possessed as God. The Greek word dunamis, meaning power, explains how He did it: not by human ability but because of His divine nature. Hebrews 2:4 presents signs, wonders, and miracles, all rooted in that divine power.

Les explains that Hebrews 2:4 contains all three Greek words the Spirit simplified for the translators. The first, semaion, should always be translated "signs." The second, dunamis, from which we get dynamo, refers to power, supernatural power. The third, teros, merely meant wonders. When asking how Jesus performed His miracles, Les says the answer is that He did it because of the power He had being God. His miracles were not done by human strength but by the supernatural power of His deity.
