How did Jesus perform miracles?
Jesus performed His miracles because of the supernatural power He possessed as God. The Greek word dunamis denotes that divine power, while semaion means signs and teros means wonders. Scripture presents His miraculous works as signs, wonders, and displays of divine power, not human ability.
Les explains that Hebrews 2:4 contains all three Greek words often translated "miracles." The first, semaion, should always be translated "signs." The second, dunamis, is the source of our word dynamo and refers to supernatural power. The third, teros, means "wonders." So when Jesus performed His miracles, He did so because of the power He had being God. The translators simplified things by rendering these distinct terms as miracles, but the underlying sense points to divine power, signs, and wonders.
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
