Why do many people today not want to hear about the blood?

Many today recoil from the blood because it has become almost taboo to discuss, yet Scripture leaves no escape from it. From the beginning God required a blood sacrifice for remission of sin, placing life in the blood, and His prescription is that without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Les teaches that in the present time many people do not want to hear anything about the blood; it has almost become taboo. Yet he stresses that you cannot escape it in Scripture, go around it, over it, or under it. You must face it head on: from the very onset of the human experience, God has demanded a blood sacrifice before there can be a remission of sin. This goes back to His sovereign mind in creation, where He put the life of living things in the blood. Science did not even catch on until about World War II that life is in the blood. It is His prescription, not anyone else's, that without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness, and no one can bypass it. Les also points to Paul's revelations in Romans as pertaining to us.
