Why have churches removed hymns about the blood from their songbooks?

Churches have removed hymns about the blood because they reject or dislike the blood-bought way of salvation. Scripture in Hebrews 9:22 declares that without the shedding of blood there is no remission, no forgiveness, making the blood essential and non-negotiable for salvation.

Les explains that from liberal circles come unkind words about the blood-bought way of salvation, and over the last ten years many denominations have taken every song out of their songbooks that references the blood. Major denominations have removed all hymns mentioning the blood. The reason is they do not like it. Yet Hebrews 9:22 states that under the law almost all things were purged by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission or forgiveness. The high priest had to present the blood yearly; it was the only thing that opened the way for man to approach God. There is no other way, no approach to God except the blood-sprinkled way. Without faith we cannot please Him, and without the shedding of blood we cannot please Him.

Hebrews 9:22

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
