Why can't scriptural preaching and teaching leave the blood out?
Scriptural preaching and teaching cannot leave the blood out because Scripture never overlooks it, and the shed blood of Calvary is intrinsic to the faith. Believers overcome the accuser by the blood of the Lamb, so any message omitting that blood ceases to be Scriptural.
Les explains that nowhere in Scripture is the blood overlooked, yet much preaching and teaching today leaves the blood out. But if a person is going to be Scriptural, he cannot do that, because it is intrinsic to our faith to believe in the shed blood of the cross of Calvary. He connects this to Revelation 12:11, where those who had been accused overcame the accuser by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, not loving their lives unto death—which he applies to martyrs of all ages, not just the tribulation. Earlier he notes Christ purged our sins by Himself, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our advocate, and constantly defends us while the old accuser accuses the brethren.
