Who is Jehovah in the New Testament?
In the New Testament, Jehovah is Christ. The Old Testament Lord is identified as Jehovah, and the New Testament reveals that same Jehovah as Christ. John’s Gospel makes this plain when Jesus says, "Before Abraham was, I AM," linking Him to the Old Testament I AM, Jehovah.
Les explains that the Lord in the Old Testament is Jehovah, and the New Testament identifies Jehovah as Christ. He points to John’s Gospel, where Christ made it plain by saying, "Before Abraham was, I AM," and the Old Testament "I AM" is Jehovah. Therefore, Jehovah the Christ shall be King over all the earth. Les also notes that the prophecy of Christ returning and standing on the Mount of Olives has not yet happened, but it will, contrary to those who dismissed it as merely apocalyptic.
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
