What does the Old Testament name Jehovah mean?

The Old Testament name Jehovah, translated out of its contractions, stood for the I AM. Jehovah is the I AM of all Scripture. At the burning bush, God told Moses to tell the children of Israel that I AM, the great I AM, had sent him.

Les explains that the term Jehovah in the Old Testament, translated out of its contractions, stood for the I AM, and that Jehovah is the I AM all of Scripture. He points to Exodus chapter 3 at the burning bush, where Moses asked what name he should give the children of Israel, and God said to tell them that I AM, the great I AM, hath sent him. Les also notes that this Book is in a distinct pattern, grouped in sevens, God's perfect number, proving it is not man's idea but only God could have done it. He connects this to the 'I AM' statements in John, such as 'I AM the bread of life' in John 6:35 and the next in John 8:12.
