Why has God made provision for believers' temptations?
God has made provision so believers need not fail or stumble when tempted. Because He is faithful, He will not permit temptation beyond what they can bear, but with each temptation He provides a way of escape. This provision rests on Christ, who experienced every category of temptation that befalls believers.
Les explains that Satan is going to hit us and the old Adam is going to come up at us, but God remains faithful. He will not permit believers to be tempted above what they are able, and with the temptation He will also make a way to escape so they may be able to bear it. Les calls this a promise, so there is no need to fail or stumble, even though we do; yet it is not God's fault. God has made all the provisions, and they are based on the fact that Christ experienced every category of temptation that befalls us.
