What was Adam given dominion over?

Adam, as the federal head of the human race, was given dominion over everything God had created. It was his to rule and reign over, and that is what the word dominion meant. He had all of that power at his disposal.

Les explains that Adam was the federal head of the human race, given dominion over everything God had created—it was his to rule and reign over. That is what dominion meant. Yet Satan came with one little temptation, and Adam, with all that power at his disposal and under beautiful circumstances with nothing to be desired, fell. Les contrasts this with Christ, who came in His earthly ministry not as the royal king as yet but more as a servant: lowly, riding upon the foal of an ass, and epitomizing servanthood by washing the disciples' feet. Christ came as the lowly servant, not as Adam with total dominion.
