Who took over dominion when Adam lost it?

When Adam lost dominion through sin and disobedience, Satan picked it up. The context states that Satan took control of the planet, becoming its mortgage holder, and that God will pay off that mortgage through the tribulation judgments. This transfer is described as Satan holding the mortgage over the world until the seven-year tribulation brings delivery from the curse.

Les explains that Adam originally had dominion in Genesis 1 and was to care for God's creation, but he lost it when he sinned and was disobedient. When Adam dropped that dominion, Satan picked it up, becoming the mortgage holder or the one who placed the whole planet under his control. That mortgage is what God will pay off in full through the judgments and events of the seven years of tribulation, ultimately bringing the world to a delivery from the curse. In Daniel 7:14, dominion, glory, and a kingdom are given to the Son, pointing to a visible, viable, political, governmental kingdom on the earth.
