Did Adam look like Jesus before the fall?
Scripture does not explicitly state it, but the view presented is that Adam, before sin, had a body identical to Christ's in earthly appearance. Since Adam was incorruptible and could have lived forever, his pre-fall appearance may have matched the second Adam, Christ, though this remains speculation rather than provable doctrine.
Les explains that the first man, Adam, was of the earth and earthy, formed from the dust, while the second man is the Lord from heaven. He notes that genealogies begin with the natural and then the spiritual, and Paul makes the point that the natural comes first, afterward the spiritual. Adam is the federal head of the human race, and because Adam fell, Christ is the response and the one who restores. Les admits he cannot prove from Scripture that Adam looked like Jesus, but he likes to think that Adam before he sinned had a body identical to Christ's in His earthly appearance. He reasons that Adam before sin was incorruptible and could have lived forever had he not fallen, whereas Christ did not fall.
