What will be found in the capital city of the New Earth?
In the New Earth’s capital, the beautiful new city associated with Jerusalem, there will be the pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street, on either side of the river, stands the Tree of Life bearing twelve kinds of fruit.
Les explains that even on the New Earth there will be much the same geographical structure as on this one. He suggests Jerusalem will again be pretty much the center of that New Earth, and that Jerusalem will be the abode of the tremendous new city. Probably out of that same area will come the river of water of life. Then verse 2 shows that in the midst of the street, as this great river flows out, on either side of the river was the Tree of Life. Les points out that the Tree of Life was last mentioned way back in Genesis, and he had taught that it would pass off the scene until the end of Revelation. Now in the eternal state, in that New Earth with that beautiful new city, the capital of it, there is not only the river of the water of life but also the Tree of Life. This Tree of Life will bear twelve manner or kinds of fruit, and fruit is for eating; the resurrected body will eat and enjoy the good things of food.
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
