What will the new heavens and new earth be like?
According to the promise, the new heavens and new earth will be a righteous universe, completely recreated because Satan has polluted all of God's creation. Nothing tainted by the evil one will remain; it will be an absolutely pure eternity without Satan's fingerprints, brought back to its original light source.
Les explains that the new heavens and new earth must be utterly redone because Satan has touched everything God has ever created, polluting the whole universe. He says the only way to enter an absolutely pure eternity without any of Satan's fingerprints is for it all to be brought back in and recreated. Les connects this to the promise that we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. He emphasizes that this whole new creation will have nothing tainted by the wicked fingers of the evil one, and it will be a righteous universe. Les also compares it to Revelation chapter 21, where John says almost the same thing. He envisions the universe melting down and coming right back to its original beginning, its original source of light, because with God nothing is impossible.
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
