What kind of pleasures does God give believers for eternity?
God gives believers eternal pleasures defined by Himself, not the world’s idea of pleasure. These include ongoing activity, meaningful busyness, and all kinds of things to enjoy in the new Earth’s kingdom economy, an endless “pleasures evermore” that is glorious because God cannot make a mistake.
Les explains that eternity will not be passive sitting around with nothing to do. He expects aspects of the thousand-year kingdom reign to extend into the new Earth, including an animal kingdom, birds, and possibly fish, though he notes there may be no sea. God will have activity; believers will be busy and have all kinds of things to enjoy. God is preparing this so His people might have pleasures evermore—not pleasure as the world thinks of pleasure, but as God defines pleasure. Les admits he does not know exactly what it will be, but knowing God, he is confident God cannot make a mistake and it will be glorious. By contrast, mankind turns its back on this eternity for seemingly ten or fifteen years of a so-called good time, as seen in the fast lane, entertainers, and bodies burning out.
