What do believers know about what eternity holds in store?
Believers know that eternity holds a great city of gold where they will one day live, and a glorious reign of Christ on this earth in which they will take part. They know these good things await them, revealed by the Holy Spirit through the Word.
Les teaches that while the unbelieving world has no idea what eternity holds and does not want to know where they are going, believers do have a concept of what eternity holds in store. They know there is a great city of gold in which they will one day live. They know there is a glorious reign of Christ on this earth in which they will take part. They know all these good things are awaiting them. God has revealed these things to believers by His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, who communicates them from the Word of God. Les also warns that much preaching and teaching today is shallow and does not get into the deep things, and Paul admonishes believers to let the Holy Spirit take them into the deep things of God's Word.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
