What will the new heaven and new earth be like compared to the thousand-year kingdom?
The new heaven and new earth will be characterized by the same set of circumstances seen during the thousand-year kingdom. The millennium is Scripture's thousand years of rule and reign, which ends through the providential acts of a sovereign God and great turmoil, but the new earth and new heaven will share that same condition.
Les explains that the God of heaven sets up a kingdom in the days of these kings, a kingdom that shall never be destroyed. Revelation puts a time element on the kingdom: a thousand years, called the millennium, the thousand years of rule and reign. That millennium will end through the providential acts of a sovereign God, and everything will have to go through great turmoil. Yet when the new earth and the new heaven come on the scene, Les says it will be the same set of circumstances that were seen in that thousand years.
