When will the new heavens and new earth be created?
The new heavens and new earth will be created after the millennial reign and after the total destruction of the present universe. Scripture points to this event in Revelation 21 and 22, where the Lord creates a whole new creation for eternity.
Les explains that the new heavens and new earth come after the millennial reign and after the total destruction of the present universe, not just the planet. He notes that Isaiah refers to the same event as Revelation 21 and 22. Even though the present creation will be destroyed, God will create new heavens and a new earth for all eternity, and they shall remain before Him. Israel will still have a unique position as the apple of God's eye, but members of the body of Christ are in an even better position.
