What will lions eat in the future?
In the future, the lion will eat straw, grass, or forage, just as the cow does today. This describes the time when the curse is lifted, and animals will lie down and feed together without harm. It is a picture of the coming peaceful kingdom.
Les teaches that the lion will eat straw or grass or forage just like the cow does today (s457–s459). He explains that under the curse, predators such as leopards and cheetahs pick on the young of other species, but when the curse is lifted, all these animals—leopard, kid, calf, young lion, fatling, cow, bear—will pasture and feed together (s430–s442, s452–s456). A little child will lead them, and there will be nothing to fear, even from poisonous snakes (s460–s470). This describes the earth being full of the knowledge of the Lord (s474–s478).
