What kind of kingdom does the Bible say will come on the earth?
Scripture teaches that an earthly kingdom will come in which Christ is the absolute King of kings and Lord of lords. It is the kingdom promised to Israel, involving rule over the twelve tribes. At that time Satan will be bound and there will be no sin.
Les teaches that the kingdom is a theme throughout all of Scripture: it is going to come on the earth, where Christ will be the absolute King of kings and Lord of lords. Satan will be bound, and there will be no sin. The disciples asked, “wilt Thou restore the kingdom to Israel?” and Jesus replied that it was not for them to know the times or seasons. He did not ridicule their idea of ruling the twelve tribes. Les compares this to a politician promising someone a place of importance if he becomes president; such a person would not forget it, and neither did Peter. Les then raises the question of who will go into the kingdom, noting there are qualifications, and turns to John 3 and Nicodemus.
