Why is Psalm 2 used when teaching prophecy?
Psalm 2 is used in prophecy teaching because it gives a simplified outline of all that would happen concerning Israel. Its early verses describe Jew and Gentile rejecting the Anointed One, pointing to His crucifixion, and later verses show God speaking in wrath after continued rejection.
Les explains that Psalm chapter 2 is used in prophecy because it is basically the outline of all the things that would happen concerning Israel, in simplified form. The early verses speak of Jew and Gentile rejecting the Anointed One, which speaks of crucifying Him. Then verse 4 presents the Godhead laughing and the Lord holding the nations in derision, total confusion, with more to come. After continued rejection and complete confusion, while mankind still thinks it has all the answers, God shall speak unto them in His wrath—not in grace, not in love. Les also notes this is just about the first time that word is used with regard to God dealing with mankind.
