What sequence did Psalm 2 reveal about Christ and the Kingdom?

Psalm 2 revealed that Christ would come, be rejected, and ascend back to glory. Then would come the time of God's vexation and wrath—the tribulation—followed by the setting of the King on the holy hill of Zion, and then the Kingdom. It gave no hint of a 2,000-year break.

Les explains that Psalm 2 provided the Old Testament program on the timeline: Christ would come, be rejected, and ascend back to glory. After that would come the time of vexation and wrath of God, the tribulation, and then the setting of the King on the holy hill of Zion—then the Kingdom. He notes there was no hint in Psalm 2 of a 2,000-year break. Les contrasts this with Peter, who was still on covenant and kingdom ground and therefore quoted the prophecy as though everything would occur in unbroken sequence, not knowing the age of grace would intervene. The first half of such prophecies was fulfilled at Christ's first coming; the second half still waits.
