The marriage of the Lamb is the heavenly event in which Christ takes the church — His body — as His completed complement, announced in Revelation 19:7-8 as the time when His bride has made herself ready.
Scripture announces the marriage in Revelation 19:7-8, where the Lamb's wife is granted fine linen, which is the righteousness of the saints. Les Feldick teaches that the bride is the body of Christ, the church, and that believers are already part of that bride. He connects this event to the first resurrection and to rewards before the bema seat.
Revelation 19:7-8 — This is the central passage that announces the marriage of the Lamb and describes the bride's preparation.
Revelation 21:9-10 — This passage shows the bride identified with the holy Jerusalem, which Les interprets as a term of position.
In Revelation 19:7-8, heaven is told to be glad, rejoice, and give honor to Him because “the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” The wife is granted “fine linen, clean and white,” and the text explicitly says that “the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” Revelation 19:14 then shows armies in heaven following the returning Christ on white horses, also “clothed in fine linen, white and clean.” In Revelation 21:9-10, the angel tells John, “I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife,” and shows him “that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.” Ephesians 1:22-23 reveals the church as Christ's body, “the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”
Les Feldick teaches that the word “fulness” in Colossians 1 and Ephesians 1 could be translated as “complement” — that which adds to or completes. Just as Eve completed Adam, the body of Christ is the completion for which Christ is waiting. He says the bride is still being prepared, and when the last member is brought in, Christ will call the bride to Himself, using Isaac meeting Rebekah as an illustration. Les explains that the fine linen granted to the bride is the righteousness, or the positional standing, of the saints. He also connects the marriage of the Lamb with the first resurrection and the bema seat for rewards, and clarifies that in Revelation 21 the bride is the new Jerusalem in terms of position. He distinguishes the rapture, when Christ comes for His own, from the second coming, when He returns with His saints and the armies of heaven are clothed in the same fine linen.
Revelation 19:8 says the bride is granted fine linen, clean and white, and the text explains, “the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” Les Feldick points to this as the believer's positional standing and righteousness. He notes the same fine linen appears on the armies of heaven when Christ returns in Revelation 19:14.
Les teaches that the bride is the body of Christ, the church. He says that as Gentiles “we have been brought into the body. We are part of that bride.” In Revelation 21, when the angel shows John “the bride, the Lamb's wife,” Les explains that this is the new Jerusalem, and that these are terms of position. The bride is being prepared for the groom, and Christ is going to call the bride to Himself.
Les places the marriage of the Lamb in the future, connected with the bema seat for rewards and the first resurrection. He says that in the first resurrection all believers of all ages will rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years. He also distinguishes the rapture, when Christ comes for the saints, from the second coming, when He returns with them.
Christ's Completion — the Body
Les explains that the word “fulness” means “complement” — that which completes — and that the completion of the Son is the body, the church.
The Marriage Is Announced
Les reads Revelation 19:7 and shows that the marriage of the Lamb is a cause for gladness, rejoicing, and giving honor to Him because the Lamb's wife has made herself ready.
Righteousness of the Saints
Les points to Revelation 19:8 to show that the bride's fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.
Future Event With Rewards
Les connects the marriage of the Lamb to future events, including the bema seat for rewards and the first resurrection.
Bride as the New Jerusalem
Les explains that the bride in Revelation 21 is the new Jerusalem, and that this is a term of position rather than communal living.
Isaac and Rebekah Type
Les uses Isaac meeting Rebekah to illustrate that Christ will go partway to meet the bride and call her to Himself; the bride is being prepared for the groom.
Body and Rapture
Les identifies the bride with the body of Christ, the church, and describes the rapture when the church is taken to meet the Lord.
Same Linen at the Return
Les shows that at Christ's second coming the armies in heaven are clothed in the same fine linen, helping to distinguish the rapture from the return.
Revelation 19:7: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
This verse announces the marriage of the Lamb and calls for rejoicing because the bride has prepared herself.
Revelation 19:8: And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
This verse identifies the bride's clothing as the righteousness of the saints.
Revelation 19:14: And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
This verse shows the same fine linen on the armies that accompany Christ at His return.
Revelation 21:9-10: And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
This passage identifies the bride as the holy Jerusalem, which Les explains as a term of position.
Ephesians 1:22-23: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
This verse describes the church as Christ's body and His fullness, which Les connects to the bride's completion.
Revelation 20:6: Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
This verse connects the first resurrection with reigning with Christ, which Les associates with the marriage of the Lamb.
The marriage of the Lamb is the heavenly event in which Christ takes the church — His body — as His completed complement. It is announced in Revelation 19:7-8 as a time for gladness and rejoicing because the Lamb's wife has made herself ready.
Les Feldick teaches that the bride is the body of Christ, the church. God has been calling out a people for His name, and that bride is still being prepared for the groom. In Revelation 21, the bride is also shown to John as the holy Jerusalem, though Les calls that a term of position.
Revelation 19:8 says the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. Les Feldick teaches this is the positional standing of the believer, granted to the bride. The same fine linen is seen on the armies of heaven that follow Christ in Revelation 19:14.
