Les Feldick Bible Study

Whose glory did they behold when the Word dwelt among them?

They beheld the glory of the only begotten of the Father, the glory of God the Son, Christ, when the Word was made flesh and dwelt among them. This glory was full of grace and truth, as John's Gospel records.

Les explains that John 1:14 is the clincher: the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and they beheld His glory. Since God the Father and God the Spirit never became flesh, the One made flesh is God the Son, Christ. The glory they beheld is the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Les also connects this to Genesis 1:1 and Paul's Colossians 1, where the Son is the image and we have redemption through His blood.

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
