What does Romans 1:23 say men did with the glory of God?

According to Romans 1:23, men changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and to birds, four-footed beasts, and creeping things. They exchanged God's incorruptible glory for man-made idolatry, dreaming up every kind of God imaginable.

Les explains that Romans 1:23 takes us back to the Tower of Babel, where the roots of Oriental religions, idolatry, and paganism began. Rather than honoring the incorruptible God, men changed His glory into an image made like corruptible man, birds, four-footed beasts, and creeping things. They dreamed up every kind of God imaginable, just as Egypt did when Israel came out under Moses, and every plague was directed against a god of Egypt. Because mankind fell into idolatry, verse 24 says God gave them up to uncleanness, judicially causing them to go deeper into sin, and later to an even lower level because of their behavior, unbelief, and rebellion.

Romans 1:23

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
