Les Feldick Bible Study

Why should we study the 40 days after Christ's resurrection?

Studying the forty days after Christ's resurrection gives an inkling of the believer's coming resurrected body. Those days reveal a body that can travel at the speed of light, pass through walls, eat fish, and vanish suddenly. That same resurrected body will be ours.

Les explains that if you want to get an inkling of what our new body is going to be like, study those 40 days of Christ's life after His resurrection. That is what we are going to have: that resurrected body. In I Corinthians 15, Paul writes to Gentile believers about a mystery: we shall not all sleep, or die physically, but we shall all be changed. Whether we have died or remain alive, we will have a resurrected body like His resurrected body. Les describes that body as one that could be from here to there at the speed of light, could go through a wall without a door, could suddenly have fish frying on the seashore and eat of it, and then just suddenly be gone. This change happens in a moment, the smallest divisible portion of time, in the twinkling or blink of an eye, at the last trump. The dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible, and believers alive at that time will be changed. Les ties this to the doctrine of the Rapture, or the outcalling of the believer, which has always been an imminent event, even in Paul's day, and remains imminent today.
