What will happen to earth's materialism and technology at Christ's Second Coming?

Les explains that the merchants and money men of this world are not concerned about the welfare of the poor individual on the street, but about where they can generate wealth, and they have often come down on God's people. He cites millions lost in World War II, under Communism, and believers martyred during the Dark Ages. He then emphasizes that all events associated with Christ's Second Coming and His return to earth are cataclysmic and judgmental, bringing this whole earth down to the place where everything that smacks of materialism, all technology, and all the efforts of man will be gone. He further identifies Satan as the god of this world system behind all of this.
