What is the Armageddon event pictured in Revelation 14 like?

It is pictured as a symbolic harvest rather than a battle won by military strategy. Christ, appearing like the Son of Man on a white cloud with a golden crown and sharp sickle, reaps this harvest. A sovereign God forces the troops into the Valley of Megiddo, packed together like sardines, making it awful and beyond human comprehension.

Les teaches that this event has no military smarts connected to it. A sovereign God causes the generals to pack their troops into the valleys beyond description, packed in like sardines in a can, not because it is militarily smart, but because God is forcing the issue. He brings them into the Valley of Megiddo. In Revelation chapter 14, Les explains, there is a tremendous symbolic picture of all this—not beautiful, but awful and beyond human comprehension. Revelation 14:14 shows a white cloud, and upon it one sat like the Son of Man, with a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. Les feels this is an allusion to Christ, the one about to reap this harvest. Another angel comes out of the temple, crying loudly to the one on the cloud, 'Thrust in thy sickle.' Les points out that a sickle always refers to a harvest; it was used to harvest grain, so the sickle here is a symbolic word for harvesting.
