Does Israel have any flat land even though it is mostly mountainous?
Yes. Although Israel is predominantly mountainous, it has low-lying, flat-level areas. The Jordan Valley is flat with level ground on both sides of the river; the Valley of Megiddo, also called Ezdralon, is a beautiful valley; and the Plains of Sharon along the Mediterranean are flat too.
Les explains that the shaded places are pretty much low-lying, flat-level areas. The Jordan Valley is flat, not very wide, but level ground runs on both sides of the river. Between Mount Carmel and the ancient city of Megiddo, or the Tell of Megiddo, is the beautiful Valley of Megiddo, also called the Valley of Ezdralon. Along the Mediterranean are the Plains of Sharon, and they too are flat. So even though the nation of Israel is predominantly mountainous, there are valley areas naturally between the various mountain ranges. Les points this out because when God brings the armies of the world to Israel, they will put their encampments on those valley floors, and the Valley of Ezdralon has been a battlefield throughout the millennia.
