What are the current boundaries of the land of Israel?
The land of Israel today is strictly between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, extending from a little south of Jerusalem up to the southern border of Lebanon. This is far smaller than the full territory deeded by God, which reached from the wilderness and Lebanon to the Euphrates River.
Les explains that even today, with the Middle East in constant uproar, the land of Israel is strictly between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean, from a little bit south of Jerusalem up until the southern border of Lebanon. However, God deeded to Abraham a much larger territory: from the wilderness and Lebanon to the great river Euphrates. Israel never occupied all of it; under David and Solomon they ventured a little beyond Galilee and a little beyond the Jordan River, but that has been the extent. Les emphasizes that he does not care what the United Nations or the European community says about the land.
