How have U.S. presidents since Kennedy approached peace in the Middle East?
Every U.S. president since Kennedy has made it almost a personal prerogative to try to bring peace to the Middle East while largely ignoring other war-torn regions. Each has stubbed his toe on Jerusalem, as Scripture says it would be a stone of stumbling, and the new administration is similarly intent.
Les explains that the world is constantly concerned about peace in the Middle East, and every United States president at least since Kennedy has almost made it their prerogative to somehow be the one who could bring peace there. He contrasts this with other areas of the world that need peace, such as Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, which has been in war for twenty or thirty years because of two factions, and areas of Africa in constant turmoil, which the world is not really concerned about. Les ties this focus back to Scripture: Jerusalem will be a stone of stumbling. Every president has stubbed their toe on Jerusalem, and the new administration is just as intent on bringing peace to the Middle East. Ultimately, the Antichrist will finally be the one to do it, bringing a seven-year treaty of peace to Israel and the Middle East, and the world will seemingly think he is the mastermind.
