Why is the world always so concerned about peace in the Middle East?

The world fixates on Middle East peace because Scripture makes Jerusalem a stone of stumbling, and every U.S. president since Kennedy has stubbed his toe trying to solve it. Other conflicts in Sri Lanka or Africa draw far less attention. Ultimately the Antichrist will bring a seven-year peace treaty to Israel and the Middle East.

Les explains that every United States president, at least since Kennedy, has almost made it their prerogative to somehow bring peace to the Middle East. He contrasts this with other troubled areas: Sri Lanka has suffered war for decades over two factions, and parts of Africa remain in constant turmoil, yet the world is not really concerned about those. He says the difference comes back to the Scriptures, which say Jerusalem will be a stone of stumbling. Every president has stubbed their toe on Jerusalem, and the new administration is likewise intent on bringing peace there. Les teaches that this is why the Antichrist will finally be the one to do it, bringing a seven-year treaty of peace to Israel and the Middle East, with the world thinking he is the mastermind.
